Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Assist with mobility and safe transfers, always prioritizing dignity and safety
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Document care activities accurately and timely in the chart or electronic record
• Support residents’ daily routines and encourage participation in activities
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care that makes a difference every shift

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification valid in Maryland (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred or obtain upon hire)
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus but enthusiastic new grads are welcome
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful approach with residents and families

Education

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing assistant skills and familiarity with activities of daily living
• Comfortable with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Knowledge of infection control standards and PPE use
• Good documentation habits and basic comfort with electronic charting or paper records
• Teamwork mindset and the ability to take direction while advocating for residents
