Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the Occupational Therapist with treatment delivery to help residents regain independence
- Facilitate functional activities and therapeutic exercises that improve daily living skills
- Document therapy sessions clearly and accurately in accordance with facility standards
- Support resident safety and independence goals through hands-on care and observation
- Engage with the care team and participate in patient progress reviews to drive better outcomes
Qualifications
- Active California COTA license (required)
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to deliver hands-on therapy
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with residents, families, and the care team
- Immediate or near-term availability to start the 13-week assignment
Knowledge & Skills
- Foundational occupational therapy knowledge focused on older adult care
- Patient-centered care and safety practices
- Thorough documentation skills and familiarity with facility charting standards
- Ability to run therapeutic exercises and adaptive functional activities
- Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
