Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare pediatric patients and their families for surgical procedures with compassion and clear communication
• Perform thorough pre-operative assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and readiness checks
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure a smooth surgical experience
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and families before surgery
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards at all times

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a valid compact state license
• Current BLS certification required
• Pediatric experience is highly valued
• Previous pre-operative or perioperative nursing experience is a plus
• Ability to work per diem as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of pre-operative nursing assessments and procedures
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to remain calm and reassuring in a fast-paced pediatric environment
• Attention to detail and strong documentation skills
• Compassionate, child-friendly approach
