Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients throughout their surgical journey
• Prepare the OR suite and maintain a sterile field for various pediatric procedures
• Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during operations, anticipating the needs of the team
• Monitor patients' vital signs and responses during surgery, responding quickly to changes
• Document intraoperative care accurately and communicate handoff details to recovery teams
• Support children and their families with compassionate, developmentally appropriate care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio or compact state
• BLS certification required; PALS highly preferred
• Prior operating room experience, especially with pediatric patients
• Strong understanding of surgical asepsis and sterile technique
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced surgical environment

• Surgical instrumentation and equipment for pediatric cases
• Perioperative nursing standards and best practices
• Pediatric assessment and emergency response
• Effective communication and teamwork in the OR
• Critical thinking and quick decision-making under pressure
