Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and support women throughout labor and delivery
• Provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns during the birthing process
• Assist with deliveries, including cesarean sections, and provide immediate newborn care
• Educate patients and families on labor, postpartum care, and newborn feeding
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, positive outcomes for mothers and babies
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain a calm, reassuring presence in the delivery room

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Current BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
• Previous labor and delivery or women's health experience is a plus
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of maternal and fetal monitoring, labor progression, and postpartum care
• Skill in using electronic health records and medical equipment
• Ability to respond quickly and calmly in high-stress situations
• Excellent patient education and advocacy skills
