Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional respiratory care to pediatric patients, including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and ventilator management
• Assess patient respiratory status and collaborate with the care team to develop and adjust individualized treatment plans
• Perform diagnostic tests such as blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests to guide clinical decisions
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques, equipment, and home management strategies
• Document patient responses, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
• Respond quickly and effectively to respiratory emergencies, supporting airway management and resuscitation efforts

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio (or eligibility to obtain one)
• BLS certification required; ACLS or PALS certification a plus
• Previous experience in pediatric or acute care settings preferred
• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and work independently
• Comfortable with flexible, per diem scheduling

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of respiratory therapy modalities, equipment, and ventilator protocols
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced pediatric environment
