Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional respiratory care to patients with a variety of pulmonary conditions
• Assess patient respiratory status and collaborate with the care team to optimize treatment plans
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilator support safely and effectively
• Monitor and maintain respiratory equipment to ensure it is functioning properly
• Educate patients and families on breathing techniques, equipment use, and care plans
• Document patient care accurately and communicate changes to the healthcare team promptly

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia (RRT or CRT) required
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Previous experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Ability to work 12.5-hour rotating shifts and adapt to changing patient needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy modalities and equipment
• Proficiency in ventilator management, airway management, and patient assessment
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting care
