Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans
• Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen, nebulizers, and ventilator management
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment and adjust as needed
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to coordinate optimal patient care
• Maintain accurate patient records and document all interventions
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and breathing exercises

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Minimum of one year of acute care experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient assessment skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of respiratory care equipment, including ventilators and oxygen delivery systems
• Understanding of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
• Proficient in electronic health records and documentation
• Excellent interpersonal and patient education skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
