Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments for pediatric patients in a compassionate, age-appropriate manner
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans to ensure each child's safety and comfort
• Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, monitoring patients closely before surgery
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, answering questions and easing anxieties
• Collaborate seamlessly with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and positive patient experience
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold the highest standards of pediatric nursing care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state
• BLS certification required; PALS certification strongly preferred
• Experience in pediatrics, pre-operative care, or surgical nursing is a plus
• A compassionate, patient-centered approach with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts and adapt to changing patient needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric assessment and care techniques
• Pre-operative nursing protocols and patient preparation
• Medication administration and dosage calculations for children
• Strong patient and family education skills
• EHR documentation proficiency
• Calm and reassuring bedside manner
