Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, 6-hour shifts; schedule varies based on facility needs
Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and prepare pediatric patients for surgical procedures in a compassionate, child-friendly way
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth pre-operative workflows
- Educate patients and families about the pre-op process to ease anxiety and build trust
- Monitor vital signs and ensure patient safety before surgery
- Maintain accurate, thorough documentation for every patient
- Advocate for the unique needs of pediatric patients and their families
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or compact state
- BLS certification required; PALS certification preferred
- Experience in pre-operative or peri-operative nursing; pediatric experience a plus
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with children and families
Knowledge & Skills
- Pre-operative nursing assessments and patient preparation
- Pediatric nursing principles and age-specific care
- Medication administration and IV therapy
- Clear communication with pediatric patients, families, and the surgical team
- Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Flexibility and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
