Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
• Assess and monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs and lab results
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate and support families, keeping them informed and involved in care decisions
• Act quickly and calmly in emergency situations, responding to changes in patient status
• Document all care accurately and timely in the electronic health record

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state
• Current BLS certification required
• PALS certification highly preferred
• Previous PICU, pediatric ICU, or critical care experience is a plus
• Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of pediatric physiology and critical care concepts
• Comfortable with ventilators, cardiac monitors, and IV pumps
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) charting
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills to connect with patients and families
• Adaptable and eager to learn in a dynamic setting
