Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, and detect subtle changes in patient status
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered by physicians
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of doctors, respiratory therapists, and specialists
• Provide education, guidance, and emotional support to patients and their families

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Current BLS and PALS certification from the American Heart Association
• At least 1 year of recent PICU or pediatric critical care experience
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs and unit priorities
• Flexibility to work per diem shifts on an as-needed basis

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Comfortable with ventilators, monitors, IV pumps, and other critical care equipment
• Knowledge of pediatric pharmacology and medication dosing
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
