Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage complex medical equipment
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans
• Educate and support families through challenging medical situations
• Document patient progress and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Maintain a safe, healing environment for patients, families, and staff

Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• PICU or pediatric critical care experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric critical care nursing principles
• Medication administration and dosing for children
• Use of ventilators, cardiac monitors, and other ICU equipment
• Effective communication with patients, families, and team members
• Quick, calm decision-making in emergency situations
• Accurate charting and documentation in electronic health records
