Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients during surgical procedures
• Assist the surgical team with instrument handling, preparation, and patient positioning
• Monitor patient vitals and ensure safety throughout the surgical process
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal outcomes
• Educate and comfort patients and families before and after surgery
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS preferred
• Perioperative nursing experience, especially with pediatric patients
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible, as-needed shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile techniques
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and emergency response
• Understanding of pediatric anatomy, physiology, and developmental needs
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
• Proficient in documenting care and using electronic health records
