Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients before, during, and after surgery
• Assist the surgical team by preparing the OR, maintaining sterile field, and anticipating needs
• Monitor patient vitals, sedation, and overall status throughout procedures
• Advocate for the safety and comfort of every child in your care
• Document nursing care accurately and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses
• Support smooth patient transitions from pre-op through recovery

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Prior operating room nursing experience, especially with pediatric patients, is highly valued
• Strong critical thinking and ability to stay calm under pressure
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of surgical aseptic techniques and sterile field management
• Understanding of pediatric anesthesia and surgical procedures
• Ability to monitor and document patient responses accurately
• Skill in using surgical instruments and OR equipment
• Compassionate approach to caring for children and their families
• Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary surgical teams
