Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients before, during, and after surgery
• Assist the surgical team in the operating room while maintaining a sterile field and patient safety
• Monitor patients' vital signs, anesthesia response, and overall status throughout procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to ensure smooth surgical outcomes
• Comfort and educate patients and families about surgical procedures and postoperative care
• Document intraoperative care accurately and uphold the highest standards of infection control

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a compact state
• BLS certification required; PALS certification preferred
• Previous operating room or perioperative nursing experience preferred
• Pediatric nursing experience is a strong plus
• Ability to stay calm, focused, and adaptable in a fast-paced surgical setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of sterile technique and surgical instruments
• Knowledge of pediatric anatomy, physiology, and anesthesia considerations
• Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork in the OR
• Compassionate approach to caring for children and their families
