Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional perioperative nursing care to pediatric patients and their families throughout the surgical journey
• Prepare the operating room, ensuring a sterile and safe environment for each procedure
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during pediatric procedures, anticipating their needs
• Monitor patient vital signs, level of consciousness, and overall status during surgery
• Advocate for the unique needs of pediatric patients, ensuring comfort and emotional support
• Document nursing care accurately and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Washington State or a compact state license
• BLS certification required; PALS strongly preferred
• Prior perioperative nursing experience, preferably with pediatric patients
• CNOR certification is a plus
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and sterile field management
• Understanding of pediatric anatomy and physiological differences
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and emergency response
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
