Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor neonates: collect comprehensive data and identify clinical needs to guide care
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care that improve patient outcomes
• Provide clear patient and family education to empower caregivers
• Perform timely interventions and document nursing actions accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe, effective care
• Promote a safe, evidence-based environment and contribute to continuous quality improvement
• Demonstrate leadership in the practice setting and support the professional development of colleagues

Qualifications

• Active Montana RN license (required)
• BLS (American Heart Association) (required)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider (required)
• STABLE certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in NICU, Labor & Delivery, Emergency Department, or Intensive Care nursing
• Ability to work varied shifts including days, nights and weekends
• Tact, discretion, confidentiality and the ability to work in a busy, stressful environment

Knowledge & Skills

• NICU nursing skills including neonatal assessment and critical care nursing
• Patient assessment, care planning and implementation of the plan of care
• Patient and family education with empathy and clarity
• Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork and emotional intelligence
• Leadership and ability to contribute to peer development
• Familiarity with stroke competency and cerebrovascular disease education requirements
