Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for children with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely, monitoring patients for response
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and home care
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately and promptly
• Advocate for the unique needs of pediatric patients and their families

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Washington (or compact license where applicable)
• Current BLS certification (PALS preferred)
• Experience in pediatric Med/Surg nursing is strongly preferred
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
• Ability to think critically and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric growth and development
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Skill in starting IVs and managing pediatric lines
• Excellent communication and family education skills
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team
