Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess, monitor, and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, with attention to pediatric dosing
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and home care
• Respond quickly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately
• Maintain a safe, comforting environment for children and their families

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Pediatric Med/Surg nursing experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts in a fast-paced pediatric environment

• Pediatric assessment and vital sign monitoring
• Medication administration, including weight-based dosing
• Electronic health record (EHR) documentation and charting
• Effective communication with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
