Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on a medical-surgical unit
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments while carefully monitoring patients' responses
• Assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care for children with a variety of acute and chronic conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and families to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatments, and home care instructions
• Document patient care accurately and advocate for the unique needs of every child

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania or a compact state
• Current BLS certification required; PALS strongly preferred
• Previous pediatric or med/surg nursing experience is a plus, but new grads with a passion for pediatrics are welcome to apply
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to provide compassionate, developmentally appropriate care to children of all ages

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric growth and development and age-specific care
• Comfort with pediatric medication dosing, IV insertion, and assessment techniques
• Strong charting and documentation skills using electronic health records
• Ability to stay calm and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, families, and the care team
