Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, 12-hour shifts; days and exact start times vary based on unit needs
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in a timely manner
- Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to any changes or emergencies
- Maintain a safe, comforting, and healing environment for children and their families
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- BLS certification required; PALS certification preferred
- Previous Med/Surg or pediatric nursing experience is a plus
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible per diem shifts as needed
- A genuine passion for working with children and families
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of pediatric growth, development, and common medical conditions
- Skill in IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards
- Understanding of family-centered care principles
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
