Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in a timely manner
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to any changes or emergencies
  • Maintain a safe, comforting, and healing environment for children and their families

Qualifications

  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
  • BLS certification required; PALS certification preferred
  • Previous Med/Surg or pediatric nursing experience is a plus
  • Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible per diem shifts as needed
  • A genuine passion for working with children and families

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of pediatric growth, development, and common medical conditions
  • Skill in IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards
  • Understanding of family-centered care principles
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
