Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring responses
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes
• Educate patients and families about care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed medical records
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
• Previous Med/Surg or pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of pediatric growth and development
• Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy
• Strong communication skills to connect with children and families
• Ability to prioritize care in a busy Med/Surg setting
• Comfort with electronic health records (EHR)
• Teamwork and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment
