Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to mothers during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond promptly to any changes
• Assist with deliveries, including supporting natural and cesarean births
• Educate new parents on newborn care, feeding, and recovery
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification highly preferred
• Previous Labor and Delivery experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal heart rate monitoring and interpretation
• Maternal and newborn assessment skills
• Knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and interventions
• Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations
• Excellent patient education and support skills
