Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert care to mothers during labor and delivery
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, responding quickly to any changes
• Assist obstetricians and midwives with deliveries and emergency procedures
• Offer emotional support and education to families throughout the birthing process
• Document patient care accurately and collaborate with the healthcare team
• Ensure a safe, comfortable, and reassuring environment for every birth

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
• Current BLS certification required
• NRP certification strongly preferred
• Previous Labor and Delivery or Women's Health experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of fetal monitoring and labor support techniques
• Skilled in patient assessment and emergency response
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
