Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, identify changes, and respond quickly to ensure safety
• Assist with deliveries, including natural births and cesarean sections, while supporting the care team
• Educate and empower new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and recovery
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional outcomes

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or a compact state
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association or equivalent)
• NRP certification preferred, but we are happy to help you obtain it
• Experience in labor and delivery or women's health is a plus, but new graduates with a passion for L&D are encouraged to apply
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of maternal and fetal monitoring and assessment
• Knowledge of labor and delivery procedures, including interventions and emergency protocols
• Ability to stay calm and focused during high-stress situations
• Excellent patient education and family support skills
• Team collaboration and clear handoff communication
