Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid triage, assessment, and stabilization of incoming patients
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency treatments as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to create effective care plans
• Document patient conditions, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact license where applicable)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferred
• Previous emergency department or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of emergency nursing protocols and best practices
• Skilled in patient triage, IV insertion, and emergency medication administration
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and charting systems
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs and priorities
