Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment so each case starts safely and on time
• Perform thorough pre- and post-procedure patient assessments and monitoring
• Circulate during diagnostic and interventional procedures, supporting physicians and the team
• Document care and procedural details in real time using MacLab/CardioLab
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policies and monitor patient response
• Operate specialty equipment (3D mapping systems, intra-cardiac ultrasound, fluoroscopy) as needed
• Provide clear handoffs and communicate abnormal findings to the physician or NP immediately
• Contribute to a safe environment by following 'Full Stop/Time Out' and other safety protocols
• Participate in precepting and mentoring new staff to grow the team’s capabilities
• Maintain currency in certifications and participate in continuing education to deepen specialty skills

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Experience in Cath Lab, or strongly preferred ICU/CVICU/IMC experience (new grads and Med/Surg-only candidates are not being considered at this time)
• Demonstrated ability to circulate independently during cardiovascular and EP procedures
• Comfortable with varied shift lengths, on-call responsibilities, and flexible scheduling
• Excellent clinical documentation skills and familiarity or willingness to learn MacLab/CardioLab

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within 36 months of hire if not already obtained

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiovascular nursing and electrophysiology procedure knowledge
• Proficiency with procedural support (circulating RN) and patient monitoring
• Familiarity with cardiac catheterization and structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAO) is a plus
• Experience with device implants (pacemaker/ICD) and EP studies preferred
• Skill operating/interpreting 3D mapping systems and intra-cardiac ultrasound
• X-ray fluoroscopy proficiency and safe radiation practices
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills in high-acuity environments
• Real-time electronic documentation skills (MacLab/CardioLab) and accurate procedure logging
