Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough acute inpatient physical therapy evaluations and deliver evidence-based treatments that help patients recover and regain function
• Manage a caseload (typically ~12-14 patients) with clinical judgment and efficient prioritization
• Coordinate patient care with nurses, physicians and the interdisciplinary rehab team to ensure safe transitions and optimal outcomes
• Document assessments, plans and progress clearly and promptly in the Meditech EMR
• Educate patients and families on safe mobility, home exercise programs and discharge planning
• Monitor patient safety, infection control and adherence to unit policies while delivering compassionate care

Qualifications

• Acute care experience — required (candidates without this will not be considered)
• Inpatient rehabilitation / SNF experience highly valued
• BLS (Basic Life Support) — required
• ICU and wound care experience — preferred but not required
• Active Physical Therapist license as required by the state of practice
• Comfort working the day shift schedule and participating in weekend/holiday rotation
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, positive attitude

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's in Physical Therapy (or equivalent professional PT degree)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Meditech EMR and accurate clinical documentation
• Skilled in evaluation, treatment planning and skilled therapeutic interventions
• Experience managing higher-volume caseloads while maintaining quality care
• Safe patient handling and mobility techniques
• Good clinical reasoning, time management and interdisciplinary collaboration
