Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify medications accurately and efficiently to ensure safe patient care across a 285-bed hospital
• Perform sterile IV compounding oversight, using DoseEdge verification and sterile technique
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, including pyxis checks, first dose verification, and emergency med box preparation
• Provide therapeutic dosing for complex agents such as vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants
• Use Meditech EMR and unit systems to document interventions, order verifications, and patient consults
• Participate in pain consults and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy
• Support medication distribution workflows across decentralized and main pharmacy areas to maintain continuity of care

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Active license to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO Pharmacist License required)
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience with sterile IV compounding and supervising pharmacy technicians
• Familiarity with DoseEdge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech EMR
• ACLS and BLS preferred; NICU experience is a plus

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

• Medication verification and clinical checking
• Sterile IV compounding processes and verification with DoseEdge
• Automated dispensing systems: Pyxis and Pak Edge
• Meditech electronic medical record navigation and documentation
• Therapeutic dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants
• Supervising, training, and delegating to pharmacy technicians
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
