Roles & Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee pharmacy operations across assigned site(s) to ensure safe, efficient patient care
• Develop and implement pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs alongside the director
• Lead budgeting, inventory control, and operational planning to meet productivity and patient outcome targets
• Serve on system and hospital committees (Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Safety, Information Systems, Patient Medication Safety, Nursing/Pharmacy) to influence system-wide practice
• Hire, develop, evaluate, and coach pharmacy staff to build a high-performing team
• Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary partners to drive clinical and operational improvements
• Partner with IT to optimize pharmacy information systems, charge systems, and inventory processes
• Step in as needed to perform pharmacy manager duties and ensure continuity of operations

Qualifications

• PharmD degree from an accredited college or university
• Licensed Pharmacist in Wisconsin (active license required)
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a pharmacy or health-system setting
• Demonstrated experience with pharmacy operations, budgeting, inventory control, and pharmacy information systems
• Strong leadership, communication, and committee participation experience
• Ability to assume 24/7 accountability and support after-hours operational needs

Education

• PharmD from an accredited college or university
• ASHP PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration preferred or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of pharmacy operations and pharmacy management best practices
• Regulatory compliance and policy/procedure development expertise
• Experience with pharmacy informatics and information systems integration
• Skilled in quality assurance and patient medication safety initiatives
• Human resources experience including hiring, performance evaluation, and staff development
• Budgeting, financial oversight, and inventory control acumen
• Effective interdepartmental communication and committee leadership
