Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic and sonographic examinations of all body parts for interpretation
• Deliver mammography services including screening, diagnostic, specimen radiography, breast needle localization, and stereotactic breast biopsy
• Operate CT and assist with interventional procedures, including automatic injector setup and contrast administration adjustments by age
• Maintain and execute daily and weekly quality control and participate in the departmental QA program
• Keep accurate patient records and ensure radiation protection and patient safety at all times
• Assist with venipuncture, sterile technique, and tele-radiology transmission when required
• Rotate shifts, participate in on-call coverage, and respond to department needs in the absence of a supervisor
• Contribute to supply inventory, ordering, and equipment care to keep the department running smoothly

Qualifications

• Current ARRT in Radiography required
• BLS certification required within 45 days of hire
• Clinical Competency Assessment required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic exams in assigned modalities (Mammography, CT, Radiography, Ultrasound)
• Willingness to learn and maintain competency in ancillary modalities such as MRI and interventional imaging
• Ability to work with patients across the lifespan and provide culturally respectful care
• Must be able to take call and report to work within 20 minutes when scheduled

Education

• Current ARRT in Radiography (required)
• BLS (American Heart Association) required within 45 days
• Clinical Competency Assessment (SEARHC) required within 3 months

Knowledge & Skills

• Mammography: screening, diagnostic, specimen radiography, stereotactic biopsy
• CT imaging and interventional procedure support, including automatic injector operation
• General radiography and sonography skills for diagnostic imaging
• Radiation protection principles and quality assurance/QC procedures
• Patient care across all age groups and ability to modify protocols for pediatrics and geriatrics
• Familiarity with teleradiology transmission, sterile technique, and contrast contraindications
• Venipuncture and basic inventory/supply management
