Location: Carbondale, Illinois

Start Date: 05-25-2026

End Date: 08-24-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 4 x 10-hour day shifts per week including 2 weekday shifts and 2 weekend shifts, flexible as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate occupational therapy to empower patients in their recovery journeys
Assess and create personalized treatment plans that make real differences in daily living
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across facilities to optimize patient outcomes
Float between Herrin, MHC, and St. Joe's to support diverse units like ED, ICU, PCU, and rehab
Adapt therapies to meet unique patient needs in dynamic hospital environments

Qualifications

Active Occupational Therapist license in good standing
BLS certification required, plus ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS based on assigned unit
CSU-ALS preferred for certain ICU roles
Ready to thrive in a floating role across Southern Illinois hospitals

Education

Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

Strong emergency department and critical care therapy skills
Proficiency with NIHSS stroke assessment
Adaptable to PCU, ICU, acute rehab, and med/surg settings
Excellent patient communication and teamwork abilities
