Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate basic patient care and support daily living activities with dignity and respect.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility to keep patients comfortable and safe.
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
• Support safe transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
• Maintain clean, safe patient environments by following infection control and safety protocols.
• Communicate clearly and courteously with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Document patient care and observations in a timely, accurate manner according to facility guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) valid in California.
• Completion of a state- or employer-recognized CNA training program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or able to obtain upon hire.
• Ability to pass required background checks, TB screening, and immunization requirements.
• Dependable, patient-focused, and able to work independently on per diem shifts.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a state-approved CNA program.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care principles and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling techniques.
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs and observing/reporting patient changes.
• Good interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and clinical teams.
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail for accurate charting.
