Shift: –  Day Shift (08:00-17:30) 40hr/wk

Pay/Salary:  UPTO $3100 WEEKLY GROSS

Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) team. As an RN in the Cath Lab, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled nurse who is passionate about cardiology and committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-procedure patient assessment and preparation: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients scheduled for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. Review patients' medical histories, allergies, and medications to ensure their suitability for the procedure. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans.

  2. Cardiac procedure assistance: Assist cardiologists and interventional radiologists during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms, ensuring their stability throughout the procedure.

  3. Medication administration and management: Administer cardiac medications, intravenous fluids, and conscious sedation as prescribed during procedures. Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects and report concerns to the healthcare team.

  4. Post-procedure care and recovery: Provide specialized post-procedure care and monitoring to patients in the Cath Lab recovery area. Assess patients' conditions, manage pain, and ensure their safety and comfort during the recovery phase.

  5. Patient education and support: Educate patients and their families about the catheterization procedure, potential risks, and post-procedure care instructions. Offer emotional support and answer any questions or concerns to alleviate anxiety.

  6. Safety and infection control: Adhere to strict safety protocols and infection control measures to maintain a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff in the Cath Lab. Implement preventive measures to minimize the risk of infections and complications.

  7. Documentation and record-keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records, documenting all Cath Lab activities, assessments, and interventions. Ensure timely and thorough documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

  8. Collaborative care and interdisciplinary communication: Work closely with cardiologists, interventional radiologists, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaborate on treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in NJ
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN, preferably in a Cath Lab or cardiovascular care setting
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Proficiency in cardiac assessments, rhythm interpretation, and post-procedure care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Cardiac-Vascular Nursing (RN-BC) or Cardiovascular Nursing (RN-BC)
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems

Document Requirements

  • Active NJ RN license required
  • AHA BLS required
  • AHA ACLS required
