The Hospital for Franklin, located in Franklin, WI, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cath Lab team on a 3-month contract basis.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures, including pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, and post-procedure recovery.
- Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' cardiac health, monitor vital signs, and promptly identify and report any changes in patient condition to the appropriate medical team members.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including procedure documentation, medication administration, and nursing assessments.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with the interdisciplinary team, including cardiologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Patient Education: Provide clear and concise education to patients and their families regarding cardiac procedures, risks, benefits, and post-procedure care instructions.
- Equipment and Instrumentation: Operate and monitor complex medical equipment and instrumentation utilized during catheterization procedures, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection control protocols, maintaining a sterile environment in the cath lab and following proper procedures for handling and disposal of contaminated materials.
- Emergency Response: Recognize and respond promptly to emergency situations, ensuring the implementation of appropriate interventions to stabilize the patient's condition.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the enhancement of patient outcomes and overall cath lab operations.
